Blue at Rest

Believe it or not, she was sound asleep when this picture was taken.

End of the Meal

Took this picture after dinner. It's far from perfect, but I am trying to live up to my pledge to take at least one picture every day.

Sheep Creek

I hate the pun and I hate the idea of rustic decor even more.

Wheelbarrow

So little depends upon
an orange wheelbarrow
as opposed to a red.

Trembling Aspen

Dad planted this tree in the back because he loved the sound the leaves make. I noticed this year that they are red in the spring before turning green.

Genie

For the past week, in addition to watching the house, I have been keeping this lovely little dog company. Genie is a funny thing. I am really going to miss her.

Saturday, May 17

Evening

It is so peaceful here. I went out with Genie and took a walk around the acreage. The deer were long gone, but I could hear the frogs in the distance. This would be a wonderful place to live and work.

Deer

Earlier this evening I spotted a group of deer outside the window. Click on the picture to get a better view of all six of them.

Acreage

I can't do justice to the light green colour of these fresh leaves. Seeing them flutter in the wind made me think of the poem by Dylan Thomas: The force that through the green fuse drives the flower/

Prairie View

Is there a more typical or pleasing sight on the prairie than a red Massey Ferguson against a blue sky?

Slough

In Saskatchewan, slough refers to a body of water found on a field and it's pronounced 'slew'.

Dance

Poor light and motion made it impossible to take a conventional picture, so I went with the conditions and mixed it up a bit.

Holiday Necessities

While in Florida, we spent a few days on the beach. The weather, water and view were more than enough, but a few other essentials didn't go amiss.

Snow

Most of Western Canada was hit by a spring storm overnight. This is what it looked like here this morning.

And this is what it looked like 12 hours earlier.

A Full Recovery

My camera finally creaked back into life today. To celebrate, I took a few random snaps around the house.
