For the past week, in addition to watching the house, I have been keeping this lovely little dog company. Genie is a funny thing. I am really going to miss her.

Evening

It is so peaceful here. I went out with Genie and took a walk around the acreage. The deer were long gone, but I could hear the frogs in the distance. This would be a wonderful place to live and work.

I can't do justice to the light green colour of these fresh leaves. Seeing them flutter in the wind made me think of the poem by Dylan Thomas: The force that through the green fuse drives the flower/

In Saskatchewan, slough refers to a body of water found on a field and it's pronounced 'slew'.
