Winter in Reading, November 2005
Matt moved into his new flat in October. I took these pictures in November on one of our many walks along the river.
This grim piece of sculpture was guarded by a fence. Its purpose remains a mystery.
There is something about winter that makes even the most benign cityscape look post-apocalyptic. Here is a train bridge built during the heydays of the nineteenth century.
Even the swans seemed slightly sinister, as if they were genetic mutations floating in toxic sludge.
