1st Avenue

While waiting in line at the bank, I took a break to snap this shot of the downtown. I think it's been raining for four days now.

Site of Historical Significance

Spotted this outside a building on campus while on my way to a meeting. Sucrose. How much I enjoy ye, yet how little I know.

Detail

Seriously lazy shot. Sometimes I follow the letter rather than the spirit of the whole 365 endeavour.

Tree Budding

I like the red of the fence: you can see the ghost of graffiti in the background.

F#*!ing Snow

Woke up this morning to the white stuff. Isn't it supposed to be spring now?

Whirly-Gig

One of the last things my dad bought for the garden.

View from the Office

What a difference a few weeks make! This is what it looked like earlier this month: bare trees and hardly any green in sight.

Recycling Bins

They look like kennels.

Further Signs of Spring

I cracked out my Vera Bradley bag today: the weather keeps getting nicer.

Monday, April 19

Tulips

Continuing the theme of bringing the spring indoors.

Sunday, April 18

Caboose

Spotted this caboose idling in a siding near the north end.

Saturday, April 17

Pink and White

The weather may feel like spring, but we haven't had much activity in the garden yet. Cut flowers help to bridge the gap.

Good Chew

Darby, in the yard earlier today, enjoying a good chew on a piece of wood, while I did some spring cleaning, i.e. poop patrol. Ah, the glamour! It's non-stop.

Wednesday, April 14

Pine Needles

It rained very heavily for most of the day and night yesterday, causing the patio to flood. When I took the dog out for a walk this afternoon, I found a thick carpet of pine needles by the back door. Can't wait for it to dry up, as I am itching to get ready for spring: clean the yard, wash the cars, plant some flowers.

Touch of snow

We had some more light snow overnight.

Park Cafe

We stopped here for breakfast this morning. It was awesome.

Winter's Return

A big storm blew in from Alberta. The winds were strong here but not as dangerous as they were in the south.

Thursday, April 8

Strange Light

It's been windy all day; and when it finally cleared up at the end of the day, the light was odd and the river had a peculiar cast. Snow's predicted for part of the province, but we only have a moderate chance for rain.

Wednesday, April 7

Pea Soup

I made this from scratch using up the last of the Easter ham. It's a long slow process making pea soup. Should have started a bit earlier in the day.

Tuesday, April 6

Craft Macro

I'm knitting a bedspread for my niece's doll. Her birthday isn't until May, but it doesn't hurt to get a head start. I'm still working on things from last Christmas.

Monday, April 5

Emma

The snow has completely melted around the shore and its very boggy. I love the look of the reeds.

Darby can still move pretty fast for an old dog.

Saturday, April 3

Custom

Love the old colours from the 50's and 60's. Spotted this truck in a parking lot in PA

Friday, April 2

Spring Thaw

While taking this shot, I spotted a pickup truck making a mad dash across the ice. As you can see, the ice is starting to melt near the shore. Madness!
