Ready for Bed

Blue, looking snoozy

Friday, February 27

City Will Not Dump

I love when things get heated between neighbours, especially over the communal trash bins.

Knitting

I seem to be getting quite crafty in my old age. This is a scarf.

Tuesday, February 24

Snow Day

Very cold and snowy today, hardly anyone on the roads.

Monday, February 23

Shame

I let Darby out and forgot all about him. By the time I remembered, he was nearly covered in snow. I am a very, very bad person. Fortunately, Darby's not one to hold a grudge. A few dog treats and the matter was forgotten.

Beemer

Shot while selling raffle tickets at the theatre. This is probably as close as I am ever going to get to a BMW. Or as close as I would care to be. I'm all about Japanese engineering. The rafffle, which was for a painting not a car, went very well and we sold close to $200 worth of tickets in an hour.

Arts Sticker

A very quick shot today taken while I was doing some work in the office.

Thursday, February 19

Quilt Shop

This is one of the most attractive retail spaces I've been in for a long time. All the fabrics are gorgeous. I had to take a picture.

Wednesday, February 18

Hoar Frost on Elms

It's been cloudy and damp the past few days, so the frost has built up on the trees. I love the way it looks against the blue of the sky.

Monday, February 16

Fresh Snow

It may lack the poetry of snow falling on cedars, but I think there is a certain grace to the way the snow has settled onto the tarp.

A Moste Excellent and Useful Gift

This past Christmas my sister-in-law gifted me with a jewelry roll. The little pockets are perfect for keeping all my supplies in order, which is good thing because I have more threads than baubles.

Saturday, February 14

Valentine's Day

My favourite kind of gift: handmade by someone I love. That's me on the right, btw.

Friday, February 13

Canada Post

I was in the Bes again today and couldn't resist snapping a photo of this mail box. There is a chute that runs the height of the building in front of the elevators.

Thursday, February 12

Crafty Car Decal

I snapped a pic of this VW detail, because it totally looked like the guy spraypainted it on. I have a love/hate relationship with VW and its parent company. Nearly every guy I've been involved with drove one at some point. Weird. I guess I need to stop dating pseudo-hipster dufuses.

40 Year Calendar

Not every gal is lucky enough to have one of these at her desk, but I am.

Darby

My feelings exactly.

Sunday, February 8

Recessionista

Thus far, my response to the recent economic downturn has been to start making things. Today I baked bread, made cookies and continued knitting a scarf.

Saturday, February 7

Another Bumper Sticker

Spotted in the parking lot outside Alexanders.

Friday, February 6

Bumper Sticker

He is, you know.

Thursday, February 5

Help Wanted Sign

This sign has been up forever. There still seems to be a labour shortage in Saskatoon. Just a few months ago, McDonalds in the north end was promising a $300 signing bonus. Crazy. Obvs one wonders if the jobs currently being advertised at this 22nd Street eatery come with certain benefits, i.e. safety equipment. Stab vest anyone? Sorry, cheap joke.

Wednesday, February 4

Suburban Mountain Range

Mountains of shovelled snow at the mall.

Tuesday, February 3

Mail Box

Interior mail chute at the Bess.

Snow on Shed

The days may be getting longer, but they're not much warmer.
