Road to Edmonton

A charmless view from the Tim Horton's drive-thru in Hinton.
Random field approaching Edmonton.
As above.

More Jasper Townsite

"Jasper" the bear, the town's official mascot, created by an artist for Maclean's magazine in the 50's.
View from townsite. It was very cold but clear that day.
The main drag, CN station on the right.
The slightly skeezy looking Athabasca Hotel. Unlike Banff, Jasper has always been a working town. The hotel was likely built to accommodate the railway, but I'd say the bar quickly turned a bit rough.

Wildlife

Although there isn't much wildlife to be seen in the winter, we did find these mountain sheep.
As you can see, the ram is busy licking the salt off the road. Unfortunately, he's enjoying his treat on a bend in the middle of a highway.
We found a herd of wapati grazing near 6th Bridge.
A female elk.
The herd at rest.
